I am a fan of Mike Rowe: my first encounter was listening to his voiceover on Deadliest Catch. He conveys humour, compassion, and a little drama and suspense (but not monster-truck-pull dramatic).
When he started Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel, there was even more Mike Rowe to love. And laugh at. And cringe from.
One day last week, I was setting up to work out on the elliptical trainer, with plans to catch up on a taped episode of Brothers & Sisters Grey’s Anatomy Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles ahem, Charlie Rose, of course.
When I turned on the television, I heard Mike Rowe’s voice, but it was disconcertingly out of context. Once the projector lamp warmed up, I could see that my ears were not wrong: Mike Rowe was on Sesame Street.
Talking with Oscar the Grouch.
Dirty job indeed.
