foxglove – a whisper of summer to come

What a wonderful name for a plant.

Makes me think Beatrix Potter might have had something to do with it.

  • As is often true—something with a beautiful name, a beautiful appearance is incredibly dangerous. No foxglove extract tea for me 🙂

    • But if you lived in medieval times and you had this in your garden, then you had options. (If I plant some now, will you be suspicious? They really are good shade plants.)

  • i love foxgloves.
They are graceful, elegant, colourful, tall, and powerful. me likey.

    • All those things, yes. Also, they grow in conditions where most other plants would turn up their noses. Must get some planted – I’ve wanted to for years.
