keep on keepin’ on

sunshine in the mountainsSometimes you just have to. Keep on keepin’ on. Even when there’s funky shit going down in the city.
Maybe especially then.

The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it.

~CC Scott

Because keeping on is the only way to come out of the woods into the sunshine. It’s the only way to find love again after having your trust betrayed. The only way to see the leaves unfurl into the next spring.

(The title’s a line from a Steve Miller song. Damn, I love me a Steve Miller guitar riff.)

  • Feb 1 tomorrow and I finally packed away all the Christmas today. Put the wreath of red hearts on the door and listened to the birds. Birds are good at keep on keepin’ on (or maybe they are good at cheep on cheepin’ on). Gonna try to add a little birdness to my day-to-day life. Now to practice my bird-song.

    • Oh, I love the idea of a wreath of red hearts on the door. The birdiness of your comment reminds me of Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird, which is ostensibly about writing, and ends up being about so much more. I love that book.
